Fear of writing!

On reading this title one would think I am an uneducated or barely educated individual who has fear of writing. Or that I am a prolific writer who wants to talk about her 'fear of writing'.

Its neither of the above! I am a fairly well educated, averagely intelligent, well settled professional in her thirties. Then why the title!?

Well I have never been much of a writer. I talk a lot and can hold decently interesting conversations and participate in some too but writing is something I have been running away from for a while. When I need to I do it - but the operating word being only when I need to or have to. That's where the problem is! My earlier and most favourite boss used to put this particular line (my title) in every appraisal of mine. He always said I hold myself back and that I shouldn't.

Yesterday, I read a blog of his 9year old daughter and was inspired to start my own. I had been toying with the idea but never got down to it cause of exactly that-Fear of writing. But when I read her blog and saw the sweet simple posts, I said to myself why not? Anyway, people who may-may not read this may-may not know me. The ones who don't know me may just have a laugh and forget about, the one who do know me may leave a comment for improvisation (i hope) and support me in this :)

My aim and intention is to write a piece a week - one a day would be far too ambitious. So let's see how it goes.

Writing is about putting your heart out there it is said, so I am starting by stating my New Year resolutions which I haven't yet shared with anyone.

- I will learn a new language in 2012
- I will take a day or two break each month and rejuvenate - this is linked to my wish of visiting one wildlife sanctuary a month (preferably a new one each time)
- I will learn swimming by no later than June
- I will start and stick to Yoga more regularly

I have consciously chosen to resolve for these as I wanted one to cover academic growth (new language),  one to cover personal growth (rejuvenation and time out and nothing better than company of animals) and lastly to bring a little discipline in my life in terms of fitness.Funnily, all of these have been inspired by the 3 generations that one hangs around with. 1st is inspired by my young niece, the second by my friends and peers and the third by my parents (their failing health) and my friends folks (healthy & fit at their age).

That's it from me on day one. Hope some one has fun reading this honest confession of a novice blogger :)
